    Our story

From a $5 truck wash to five acres.

    12

A bucket, Dawn and a scrub brush

Ken Myers wanted a bike. His uncle didn't want to hire him, so Ken washed his drivers' trucks after their shifts for $5 apiece. The catch: he was too young to drive them off the wash rack, so the drivers taught him.

    16

    Full-time under trucks

His uncle took him under his wing. Tires, then brakes, then services, then overhauls and clutch jobs. By 16 Ken was full-time, helping his single mom raise three boys.

    22

    An AMC Pacer and Lisa

Ken bought his first car, an AMC Pacer, to drive to his uncle's shop. At 22 he married Lisa Myers. They're still married today.

    23

    Thirty trucks at Phillips Grain

In Delano, Ken took charge of a 30-truck fleet and moved up fast. All those years of starting early paid off.

Myers Diesel Repair starts with no shop at all. Customers call, Ken drives out. RMC Transportation lets him work out of their shop.

    I-5

    The Grapevine

Climbing the Grapevine, the old truck's engine nearly fell out. Ken bought a new service truck the next day, and business took off.

    2005The Myers Diesel shop building

    The shop on Enos Lane

February 2005: an 8,000 sq ft shop on five acres near Shafter. Four sea trains became the parts warehouse. Then came a second shop out back, then a wholesale warehouse.

    Accommodating & caring staff

Towed in the evening yesterday. The Myers staff were very accommodating and caring. Great customer service and excellent shop service. Highly recommend. Thank you Myers for everything that you did.

    Staff very friendly

My codriver and I came here because TA and Freightliner could not fix the problem properly or within a decent time frame. The staff here is friendly… they put movies on for us, let us use their wifi, gave me coffee and my partner something to eat.

    Awesome folks at Myers

While on our way to San Diego we had a problem with our Ford F-250 diesel. The folks at Myers from the receptionist to the mechanic were awesome!! Had us repaired and on our way! Job well done.
